š this didnāt feel productive at all
I sat down, paintbrush in handā¦
ā¦uncertainty mixed with a feeling of excitement coursed through my veins.
It felt strange to set my phone to ādo not disturbā and carve out space for thisā¦
The voice in my head was repeatedly whining, āThis is an epic waste of time.ā
I turned down the dial on that voice and began to paint.
As I dipped the paintbrush into the water, playfully selecting and mixing colors to my heartās content. I found myself relaxing into the moment.
Often the thing that keeps us from taking time for playfulness and self care is having the belief that by taking time for ourselves weāre not being āproductiveāā¦
We are trained out of prioritizing our desires because weāre taught to focus on productivity and only do the things that āmove the needleā.
Weāre led to believe the other stuff is frivolous and unimportantā¦because it often involves doing less, slowing down, and being playfully curious.
If you have something on your heart that youāve been yearning to try or something that youāve been longing to learnā¦I have great news!
You can dive into how to spark your creativity here!
You are SO loved! ā¤ļø
